HCP believes in giving back so we created a companywide team building project focused on giving back to deserving charities. We selected the charities by:
- Surveying our doctors and asked what charities they are passionate about
- A charity in our community
- A charity our owners are passionate about
The Charities:
Wounded Warrior Project
Wounded warrior project began when several individuals took small, inspired actions to help others in need. One night while watching the evening news, a group of veterans and brothers were moved by the difficult stories of the first wounded service members returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq. This made them realize then and there that something needed to be done for these brave indiviuals beyond the brass bands and ticker parades. The purpose of this organization is to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of severly injured service man and women. Also to help these service men and women assit each other as well as direct them to the right programs to meet their needs. HealthCare Partners is honored to be a part of this organization.
Dream House
Dream house and our supporters, give medically fragile children a voice, options and a more promising future. We have clear vision, a purpose and a well laid out path for helping Georgia's medically fragile children. OUR MISSION: Providing educational programs and unique teaching environments for families and care givers. Assisting in the development of specially equipped and accessible homes. Increasing community awareness about the lives and needs of medically fragile children. Creating opportunities for community and corporate partnerships focused on improving the quality of life for medically fragile children and their families.
The Lighthouse Family Retreat
The Lighthouse serves children with cancer and their families and helps them to laugh, restore family relationships and find hope in God at seaside retreats. Since The Lighthouse was founded by Melinda Mayton in 1999, over 600 families have reconnected at 50 beach retreats. Each retreat is comprised of approximately 12 retreat families and 30 volunteers who serve the families by cooking, cleaning and taking care of the daily responsibilities so that the retreat families can focus on having fun together. The retreat season runs from April through October, with 10 retreats scheduled annually. Currently, all retreats are held on the Florida panhandle, in beach communities along 30-A. Our hope for the future is to have multiple coastal retreat locations to share The Lighthouse experience with even more families.
